Hi! I’m J.J. Oates. I am the writer of the Human Error Series. Thanks for wanting to learn more about me! I’ve always loved writing stories, and am beyond excited to, now, share my stories with you, the reader. For your pleasure, I plan to release my stories in story arc format, or multiple books at once. What this means is you will be able to binge read a character's story, if you choose.
In addition to being a writer, I’ve worked as a high school English teacher for almost twenty years. Teaching is a fun, challenging, rewarding career. Every student is unique, and I’ve always loved watching them interpret and understand the deeper meaning that comes with studying literature, as well as watching them develop as writers.
Beyond the literary world, I am happily married with two daughters. I spend lots of time hanging out with my family. My wife and I enjoy live music and comedy. I read and play with my children daily, and volunteer for their various activities, whether that be as a guest class reader, or coaching a team.
I also love playing ice hockey. I can often be found in the ice rink, a few times a week. I grew up, and still live, in New England. I enjoy playing video games, especially platformers and fighting games, and I look for any excuse to be outside.
